    We try to visit two churches in the morning, have a pre-arranged sandwich lunch in a pub, followed by another church in the afternoon.

    Meeting pattern: From March to October on the 2nd Friday in the month (all day).

    We usually meet at the first church between 10.15am and 10.30am.

    Mostly we try to visit two churches before lunch and one after. Individual members organise the monthly visits in rotation (including lunch). They provide the meeting details to the group leader who circulates them to the members each month.

    Start date 30 April 2024.  We organise the following year's visits at a lunch in November.

    The aim of the group is to learn more about the ecology of our local wildlife through first-hand experience in the field. No previous experience is required, just an enthusiasm to find out more about our local environments.

    We visit rural and urban sites to learn and share our knowledge of the wildlife. The members choose a venue, prepare and lead the meetings.

    We visit a variety of gardens from formal ones to small private gardens. These are mostly in Suffolk but occasionally in Essex, Cambridgeshire or Norfolk.

    The meeting time will change depending on the opening times of the garden, by arrangement with garden owners, and how far we are travelling.

    Car sharing is encouraged, but you will need your own transport if you can’t arrange to car share.

    This is an informal introductory group who meet monthly in each other’s homes. Members read a chapter from the agreed text book prior to the meeting and this is discussed at the meeting with guidance from a retired geologist.

    We aim to discuss relevant topics suggested by individual members of the group.

    This is a lively and enthusiastic group which was set up in 2016.

    The group meets at a variety of venues based in members' homes. It has a well established membership and everyone is encouraged to research and present on different aspects of geology which spark their interest. There are also full day field visits to venues within the region and an annual 3-4 day field trip to interesting places further afield.

    Visit places of interest in East Anglia.  A small sociable group with venues chosen by individual group members.

    The group started October 2011 and is well established.

    On our latest visit 25 members of Questers 2 visited Glemham Hall on 4 October 2012. We were shown around by the owner who was very enthusiastic about his home. We finished off by walking round the beautiful gardens followed by tea, cakes and flapjacks. We all agreed it was a good day out.

    Our next visit is on November 14 to Snape Maltings to see the auditorium and various rehearsal rooms.

  •     Theatre Visit Group - various locations - various days

    Visits are arranged to different theatres within easy travelling distance of Ipswich. We cover all types of theatre productions, choral, orchestral, ballet and opera.

     

    Visits vary in time and venue but are usually matinees. We welcome input from group members.
