Culture Vultures is an opportunity to discuss a wide variety of cultural interests including art, music, sculpture, poetry, historical artifacts, media and science.

Each member takes a turn in presenting a topic, so that we experience a wide variety of cultural interests.

The leader gives their presentation and this is followed by a general discussion. There may be either one or two topics per meeting, depending on the subject.

We then normally share ideas about what we have seen, read, found out about etc.

Members may bring their own refreshments.

Recent topics have included:

  • The origins of Pearly Kings and Queens
  • The controversial art of The Connor Brothers

  • Recent Irish literature and film
  • The story of Wagner’s Ring Cycle
