The University of the Third Age (U3A) is a cooperative of people offering educational, recreational and social activities for those with time during the day.

The U3A in East Suffolk has more than 100 interest groups which meet regularly to pursue a range of special interests, including crawling around on a beach at Walton.

Within East Suffolk U3A we have over 1000 members, mostly from the area shown in the map.

Map of East Suffolk

Groups: The U3A in East Suffolk has more than 100 interest groups which meet regularly to pursue a range of special interests including poetry, science, family history,  international and current affairs, music appreciation and many more. Some groups venture out and these include the Church Crawlers, Garden Visits, Walking, Architecture and Lunch Clubs. For a list of all the groups available and some outline information about each one - see the  List of Interest Groups with summaries.

Monthly meetings: There is a programme of talks on a wide range of subjects. These are held every month in Kesgrave, Saxmundham and Felixstowe. The meetings are very sociable, with tea and biscuits, giving members the chance to establish new interest groups and make new friends. You can find the latest list of monthly meetings under the menu  Monthly Meetings.  For those who came to the October meeting in Kesgrave you can download the River Gipping walk leaflet our speaker referred to from www.rivergippingtrust.org.uk

New members: We welcome new members and visitors to our meetings. We have no entry qualifications and no exams. The fee of £12.50 a year secures full membership to all activities. Anyone joining after March 1st will have extended membership until June 30th of the following year. How to join U3A in East Suffolk
